Damon & Naomi 這隊來自美國Boston的二人樂團，由92年debut至今都是保持著一份接近古典音樂的氣息，緩慢的，優美的，攝人的，雋永的，如夢的，都是可以用到的形容詞。

2005年的【The Earth is Blue】在封面及音樂上都給人一種藍天下的海邊明朗卻濕潤的氣氛。今次在9月25日推出的【Within These Walls】則是Damon & Naomi 稱是他們刻意製作的最傷感的專集，靠近在梅雨天下呆在家的一個散懶郁郁下午，暫時陣容加入Michio Kurihara (electric guitar)、Bhob Rainey (soprano sax)及Helena Espvall (cello)，更多Orchestra元素，更個人化的情感，忽爾讓我覺得他們擁有The Carpenters平易近人的流行曲及其哀而不傷的細膩感覺，讓人沉溺於一個安逸的中午，卻不免立地讓你鼻酸一下。

除了拿手的低迴樂曲《Lilac Land》或《The Well》等外，《On the Aventine》的Jazzy屬於清晨清澈的空氣；《The Turnaround》的Jazzy倘然之餘，又會是帶著The Lambchop的那份滄浪味道。趨搖滾ballad的曲目中，《The Wall》像聽著the carpenters的歌曲般的感動，《Stars Never Fade》著力鼓聲與結他，輕快放逸的節奏中，Naomi演唱的主旋律又像在朗讀一句句的詩段，第三段中開始加入電結他的”riff”，發展至Outro罕有的電結他激昂狂暴。

不過，最令人屏住氣息的是專輯中間的《Red Flower》，由結他帶入soprano saxophone及Naomi的ad-lib，像煙絲或是砂質的窗簾的輕盈細膩，柔情地輕撫你的臉龐，歌詞則是「Dear Friend,　You’ve lost your center　And cannot find the rhyme」等柔細的慰問。雙簧管的悠揚，Naomi聲音的敦樸溫柔，在Outro裏更是全然盛放，soprano saxophone的演奏，配以雙簧管、 Trumpet及horn等的樂器再加上Naomi的Ad-lib，這朵花美麗異常的攝人。緊接的《Defibrillation》電結他與Damon的介乎假音與真音的聲音的力度，是在沉靜中的敏銳情感，卻已擁有著Orchestra 的激昂。

又是一張2007年不可多得的好專輯，不知何時可以收藏他們所有的舊唱片呢？
